- About
- Adriana is a practicing visual artist who uses light, installation and photography to investigate the phenomenology of the metaphysical and existential. She has been a practicing and exhibiting artist for over a decade.
She was born in Beverley, UK, and grew up around the world wherever her mother found work, including Spain, Egypt and the United Arab Emirates. She returned to Hull independently at the age of fourteen, finishing school.
After obtaining a BA Hons and an MA in arts she has had work selected by British Journal of Photography, Art Journal, District Magazine and more. She now lives and practices in North Yorkshire.

- Adriana most recently worked as Senior Lecturer and Course Leader of the BA Hons Photography degree at Teesside University. She previously led the photography degree at Leeds Trinity University, and has worked in the photography departments at Coventry University and University of Lincoln.
She has been lecturing in photography and arts since 2009 alongside her practice and has spoken for various institutions including Redeye, Coventry Biennial, Hull City of Culture, Euroaccademia conference and Leeds Arts University.
- Works
- An internationally exhibited artist, she has also run successful organisations and delivered events with Redeye and Hull City of Culture 2017. Adriana was an official research fellow with the British Council for Venice Biennale 2019 and has presented research with EuroAccademia at the Centro Culturale Don Orione Artigianelli in Venice, Italy.
In 2018 'Eat the Rich' was shortlisted for Portrait of Britain and published in the commemorative book with British Journal of Photography and Hoxton Mini Press.

- Networks
- After co-founding Illuminate a photography network in Yorkshire she organized and hosted events that provided a platform for emerging and professional practitioners to network and present their works.
In 2018 she successfully established funding for Illuminate:Legacy and commissioned four artists to produce projects that explored the impact of the Hull City of Culture. She organised and hosted the final event alongside Redeye The Photography Network, with an audience of cultural stakeholders and the public.
She went onto be a board member of Redeye The Photography Network, and is established within the UK visual arts community.
