A conference paper presented at Euroaccademia in Venice, January 2020 that uses official and own field research to analyse the impact of the City of Culture programme on the reinvention of Hull and questions the ambitious remit of the programme against such engrained systemic issues in host cities.
Research report conducted on location during a Venice Fellowship in August 2019 for the British Council during Venice Biennale, exploring the relationship between light and the sublime in the art, religious spaces and the city itself - and how this can be interpreted for presenting photographic artworks. Please see Sublime Intervention in the Projects menu for the visual response.
A dissertation completed in 2015 during the final stages of my Master's degree in Creative Practice, investigating how light contributes towards a sublime experience for both artist and audience within contemporary photographic works. This paper forms some of the theoretical research behind the photographic body of work 'Lumen' which can be seen under the Projects menu.
